Taegeuk Il Jang is the first pattern that you will learn in World Taekwondo.
In Korean
- 'Il' translates as the number 1.
- 'Jang' translates to 'Chapter'
Therefore, it translates as: Chapter 1.
The pattern is made up mostly of walking stances, but there are a few front stances which will allow you to practice transitioning between stances.
The pattern begins in Junbi Sogi.
